I am Melva Archer-Persico, a Guyanese-born academic. At present, I am a Senior Lecturer of Spanish at Clemson University in South Carolina, U.S.A. My general research interests are in the areas of Afro-Hispanic and Anglophone Caribbean Literatures and Cultures. In my life outside of academia, I am actively engaged in volunteer work in my community. I also enjoy reading, sharing cultural experiences, and writing poems and short stories.
